The family of a police officer, Haider Ali Zaidi, who was a part of Karachi operation in the 1990s, is facing death threats from criminals, The News reported on Sunday.

Haider, who played an important role in the operation in Karachi, has previously been attacked by terrorists several times and is once again receiving death threats as well as his family.

The former Bahadurabad station house officer (SHO) was seriously wounded in an attack near Safari Park back in 2013. Haider’s brothers, Syed Shahid Ali Zaidi and Sultan Ali Zaidi, left the country after the constant attacks.

“My mother recently received a threatening call by unknown culprits warning that they would kill her sons soon after they return to Pakistan,” explained the officer.

Haider said that frequent attacks on him and his brothers led to them leaving Pakistan. He added that they moved abroad to save their lives and now want to return to the country, however, they have once again started getting death threats if they decide to come back.

The cop’s younger brother, Shahid, suffered injuries in a knife attack by terrorists in 2018 and was once again targeted in 2019 by assailants which left him injured in the crossfire.

Not only that, Haider’s sisters have also been attacked by terrorists while the Sultan has also been threatened. Other than that, their elderly mother, who is a cancer patient, also received threats through repeated phone calls.
