LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department on Saturday approved the deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel to provide security during the Asia Cricket Cup matches, to be played between August 27 and September 6, as the sale of tickets for the mega event begins.

Furthermore, helicopters will also hover over the stadiums to further beef up the security. Teams from Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will participate in the tournament.

All matches will be played in Lahore and Multan. On the other hand, online sale of tickets for matches of the event to be played in Pakistan will start today.

In the first phase, tickets for the VIP and Premium enclosures of Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will go on sale.

On August 14, the country’s 76th Independence Day, prices of tickets for the First Class and the General Enclosures will be announced.

Tickets will also be available for both the stadiums’ hospitality boxes for which people have been asked to dial 111227777.
